Yukon First Nations Income Tax Credit

The Yukon First Nations Income Tax Credit  is part of the tax sharing arrangement between the Government of Canada, Government of Yukon, and self-governing Yukon First Nations, that provides a tax reduction so that you don’t pay more taxes than required to both the federal and Yukon governments. You can claim this credit if, on December 31, you lived on one of the following Yukon First Nations settlement lands:

  • Carcross/Tagish
  • Champagne and Aishihik
  • Kluane
  • Kwanlin Dun
  • Little Salmon/Carmacks
  • Nacho Nyak Dun
  • Selkirk
  • Ta'an Kwäch'än
  • Teslin Tlingit
  • Tr'ondëk Hwëch'in
  • Vuntut Gwitchin

Where do I claim this?

H&R Block’s tax software automatically applies this credit to your return provided you’ve indicated that you lived on a Yukon First Nations settlement land on the Your residence page.

Note: You can find the Your residence page under the ABOUT YOU icon of the GET STARTED tab.
