Your Relevé 16: Trust Income (RL-16) slip reports amounts that were allocated to you by a trust during the year. This income could be from dividends, interest, and capital gains, single pension payment, foreign investment, foreign business, or from other sources such as Canadian business and property.
Note: Chances are that you won’t receive an RL-16 slip if the amounts allocated to you were less than $100. However, you will still need to report any income you received from a trust on your tax return.
Where do I claim this?
Follow these steps in H&R Block’s 2017 tax software:
- On the QUICK ENTRY tab, click the QUICK SLIP icon. You'll find yourself here:
- Type relevé 16 or RL-16 in the search field then click the highlighted selection or press Enter to continue.
- When you arrive at the page for your RL-16 slip, enter your information into the tax software.
