Error code RQ295

You’ll see the following error message in H&R Block’s 2017 tax software if you entered the net income earned from logging operations in Part B – Deductions for logging tax of the Schedule E: Tax adjustments and credits page, but you didn’t report the taxes you paid on that income:

Since you entered your net income from logging operations in Québec in Part B of the Schedule E page, you also need to enter the amount of logging taxes you paid. Let’s take a moment to go back to the form and enter this amount. If you didn’t have any logging taxes for the year, enter zero. [error code: RQ295]

How do I fix this?

To correct the error, return to the Schedule E page in H&R Block’s tax software and enter the amount of tax paid on your net logging income in Part B – Deduction for logging tax. If you didn’t pay logging taxes in 2017, simply enter zero (0).

Note: You can find the Schedule E page under the OTHER icon of the PREPARE tab.
