How do I know if I’m using H&R Block’s most up-to-date software version?

Both our online and desktop software products update automatically, every time you login. However, we still recommend that you do a ‘hard refresh’ of your browser whenever you start working with our online software, to make sure you clear any cache or remaining traces of an older version. Here’s how:

If you're using a PC

  • Hold the Ctrl key and press F5 (Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer);
  • Hold the Shift key and click the Reload button located on your browser’s navigation toolbar;
  • Hold the Shift and Ctrl keys and press R (Firefox);
  • Hold the Ctrl key and click the Reload button located on your browser’s navigation toolbar (Chrome, Internet Explorer); or
  • Hold the Shift key and press F5 (Firefox)

If you're using a Mac

  • Hold the Option and Command keys and press E (Safari);
  • Hold the Shift key and click the Reload button located on your browser’s toolbar (Chrome, Firefox); or
  • Hold the Command and Shift keys and press R (Firefox)
