You will see the following error message in H&R Block’s 2017 tax software if, on the British Columbia logging tax credit page, the amount you entered for the logging tax you paid was more than your net logging income for the year:
The logging tax you paid can’t be more than your net logging income. Let’s go back and correct this amount. [error code: 239]
How do I fix this?
To correct the error, return to the British Columbia logging tax credit page and enter the correct amount(s) for the logging tax you paid and/or net logging income for the year. You can find these amounts on your logging tax return (FIN 542S or FIN 542P form), which you need to download and complete from the British Columbia government website before claiming this tax credit.
Note: The British Columbia logging tax credit page can be found under the EMPLOYMENT icon on the PREPARE tab.
