You’ll see the following warning message in H&R Block’s 2017 tax software if, while claiming your RRSP contributions, you didn’t enter your 2017 RRSP/PRPP deduction limit on the RRSP contributions and HBP or LLP repayments (Schedule 7) page:
Please enter your 2017 RRSP/PRPP deduction limit. Most people will have an amount for this on line (A) in their notice of assessment. If you don’t enter this deduction limit, the maximum amount of RRSP contributions you can claim will be 0. Take a minute to double check your 2016 notice of assessment and then go back and re-enter what you see for line (A). [warning]
How do I fix this?
To clear this warning, return to the RRSP contributions and HBP or LLP repayments page and enter your 2017 RRSP/PRPP deduction limit. You can find this information on line A of your 2016 notice of assessment or reassessment. Remember, you won’t be able to claim your RRSP contributions without entering your deduction limit for this year.
Note: You can find the RRSP contributions and HBP or LLP repayments page under the QUICK SLIP icon of the QUICK ENTRY tab.
