You’ll see the following warning message in H&R Block’s 2017 tax software if, on the T4 page, you reported an amount in box 83 (Barbers or hairdressers – gross income), but you didn’t enter this amount on the Statement of business or professional activities (T2125) page:
You entered self-employment income in box 83 on the T4 page. If you haven’t already, enter this gross income in the Statement of business or professional activities (T2125) page so we can include it in your income. You’ll find the T2125 page in the EMPLOYMENT section under the PREPARE tab. If you live in Québec, the page is called Business or professional income and expenses (T2125 & TP-80-V). [Warning]
How do I fix this?
To clear this warning, you’ll need to enter the amount from box 83 of your paper T4 slip on both the T4 and the T2125 page in H&R Block’s tax software.
Note: The T2125 page can be found on the PREPARE tab under the EMPLOYMENT icon. If you’re a resident of Québec, the T2125 and TP-80 are combined in the software.
