You'll see the following error message in H&R Block’s 2017 tax software if you entered an invalid street address:

The street address you entered doesn't seem to be valid. Please ensure you entered it correctly and in the right format. [error code: 181]

How do I fix this?

To correct the error, enter your street address correctly in the Street field on the Your mailing address page under the ABOUT YOU icon of the GET STARTED tab. You can also find the Street field on the Your spouse’s mailing address page under the ABOUT YOUR SPOUSE icon on the GET STARTED tab.

Note: You will see the error message if you enter a special character such as ! or # in front of your street address in the Street field.

Correct format: Main Street
Incorrect format: !Main Street
